Starting a T.O.W.N Club

Check list for opening a new TOWN Club

1. Venue. This must have enough seats, heating, facilities for tea & coffee, a secure storage place for the scales and a cupboard, be available every week of the year and be of reasonable rent.

2. It is good to start with a small group (20 to 30) so that the Committee can get the feel of working together, before you advertise via local shops and Doctors etc. The Club will grow quickly.

3. Every Club has to chose it's own colour for your felts and sashes.

4. You will need TOWN stationery - application forms, personal weight sheets, and personal weight books, these will be supplied from the TOWN office prior to the club starting.

5. Weight Recorders, Treasurers and Secretaries bound books are required.

6. New digital scales cost approximately $1100

7. If necessary, an interest free loan is available from Central Committee for a period of two years, to assist with the purchase of scales and setting up the club.

8. Finances can be aided by donations from existing clubs who are always willing to assist.

9. Every new club is supplied free of charge a Resource Manual and a Weight Recording Manual to assist the new committee
